About

I have been a clinical psychologist for over 20 years, first as a staff psychologist at UNMC, and now in private practice in Papillion. I work with people 19 and older. The work I do is generally insight-oriented, meaning I want us to understand the factors underlying behaviors before attempting to change them. I am particularly interested in patterns, and how prior relational learning can repeat in the present. I try to make my office a place of safety where people can explore prior learning about themself and others in order to modify assumptions, expectations, and behavior. This type of work tends to lead to long-lasting change.

Specialty areas for me include treatment refractory mood and anxiety disorders and eating disorders. I often work with people who have suffered symptoms over many years, and who have had multiple prior treatment attempts. I find this work particularly rewarding, as it has the potential to impact not just one life, but multiple generations in a family.

You will likely find my approach relaxed and conversational, but also focused. I am familiar with the needs of people in sensitive professional and security positions with high reputational risk. Please call me if you would like to discuss whether I am a good fit for you. l return calls personally, typically within 24 hours.
