Consider what it would be like to live without self-doubt and less worry. Consider enjoying a moment for the experience instead of re-visiting experiences over and over in your mind by allowing your thoughts to spin stories that often begin with "what if . . ." or "I should have . . ." The role of a therapist is not to be in the middle of troubles and is not about giving advice or telling someone what to do. However, many people feel that once they have a trusted "neutral" person to speak their stories to then they have begun the process of healing. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and families. My work is deeply rooted in a Strengths-Based Perspective within a Relational Model. I integrate stress-management strategies, such as mindfulness practices and cognitive behavioral tools, into my clinical practice. Together we will utilize the Life Ideals(tm) Model to identify areas of self-care that can be strengthened and strategize ways to incorporate healthy habits to improve overall health and wellness. The self-care practices that are proven to reduce stress and increase resiliency are Relaxation, Social Support, Thought Restructuring, Sleep, Physical Activity, and Nutrition.
