Julie Risher earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Webster University in Charleston South Carolina and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Julie has diverse experience providing counseling to individuals, adolescents, families, and groups in a variety of settings and has worked with patients with a wide range of concerns including depression, eating disorders, self-harm, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, substance abuse as well as trauma and abuse. Julie's counseling style is honest, warm, and open. She is committed to providing empathy and compassion to her patients as these are essential to establishing a safe and trusting relationship between herself and the patient so that they can grow and achieve their goals. Julie's approach to counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Behavioral Modification. Julie has always known that she wanted to be of service to others in some way, so she became a nurse. However, she never felt fulfilled because she didn't really get to spend enough time with her patient to get to really know them. When Julie found counseling and became a therapist, she knew that she had finally found her true calling.
