I am a Baby Boomer. I realize I have probably lived three-quarters of my life, during which I have experienced most of the situations one can experience throughout one's life. I still have a positive outlook on the time I have left, and I want all of my generation to feel that their presence on this earth has made a difference. I have counseled families who promised to "never put Mom in a nursing home". I have counseled those who never thought they would end up there. Retirees, divorcees, widows/widowers, empty nesters, mid-life crises, what's left now?, all are welcome. Latter life situations are my specialty. Someone said, " We play the hand we're dealt". My goal is to assist older folks to look back on their lives with pride and a sense of accomplishment, that they have left a legacy to be proud of. I also work with adults with aging parents to anticipate loss and how to deal with end-of-life issues. These are stressful times but I am here to guide and support. Life isn't fair. We make our choices and live with the consequences. Or maybe the choice was made FOR us and we have to DEAL with the consequences. Either way, I guide clients in acceptance, assertion, and action to get life back on track. I employ varied theoretical frameworks depending on the situation. Each story is unique and so is its conclusion.
