About

Because I specialize in complex trauma and dissociative disorders, most of the folks I work with are survivors of relational trauma: childhood abuse and neglect, religious trauma, and/or marginalization and oppression. In other words, I help people who’ve been deeply wounded in relationships. When relationships are the context for wounding, they are also the context for healing. I integrate a variety of treatment strategies, but my basic approach is relational. I strive to build an environment imbued with what Erik Erickson called "trust born of care."

I operate from a psychodynamic framework, meaning I value the wisdom of the unconscious. I naturally gravitate toward treatment approaches that utilize images, stories, and metaphors for healing—expressive arts, writing, sand tray, play therapy, ego state therapy (parts work) and hypnotherapy. I am also trained in trauma processing modalities such as EMDR.

I’m a lifelong learner and find the human brain fascinating in its creativity, complexity, and resilience. I believe in transparency in my clinical work, meaning I educate my patients on the theories and interventions I’m using in their treatment. If this sounds like the kind of approach you would find helpful, reach out for a free consultation.
