About

Schedule update. I offer, on average, weekend sessions 3 of 4 weeks per month. Most of my clients started working with me in the midst of personal crisis and it was important to make practical improvements and for them to feel better and better about themselves. Some people were satisfied with short-term therapy and elected to stop there. Others decided to use their positive momentum to initiate longer-term changes in their present lives, often relating to issues of childhood and family of origin. I've worked extensively with young adults, an ongoing specialty, and also with parental issues relating to young adulthood.

I appreciate being an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy, including training with Dr. Aaron Beck in Philadelphia and being a founding member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. CBT is a hands-on and helpful approach that teaches skills based on research. Best results with homework where individual design reinforces motivation.

It's fair to say I have good energy for this work and enjoy interest and warmth with the people I meet. I seek to live a high quality life consistent with the truths of therapy as well as to guard against professional burnout. Work / life balance underlies an approach to therapy that becomes daily practice.
