About
Hello! My name is Joel Gagliano and I carry both an LPC, as well as an LAC in the great state of Colorado. I am a Denver native and I knew early on that I wanted to be in the helping profession. Due to my own past experiences, as well as family and friends, I have chosen the path of helping those that are struggling with, but not limited to, substance use issues and its' impact on one's own well-being. I have found that I gravitate toward solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) modalities. Additionally, I have completed trainings in the trauma recovery and empowerment model (TREM) as well and love working with individuals that have been affected by past trauma. As a helping professional, I like to work on shrinking the power dynamic between therapist/person-served, in order to convey a sense of collaboration between the two. Ultimately, I am only a part of an individual's progress, they will be doing the bulk of the work with the tools that I hope to impart.
