Loss is universal to all of us. When we grieve someone we have lost to death it is usually profound and can create a myriad of emotions (sadness, anger, guilt, relief, etc.) There are other losses in life: divorce, job loss, a geographical move away from home or what is familiar to us, an illness (life threatening or chronic). We can feel adrift and unsettled. Sometimes the very essence of who we thought we were, our very identity is shattered. Sharing your loss with someone who has many years of experience can help in establishing a new sense of self. If you are experiencing loss, please call Peninsula Therapy. I have many years of experience in hospice and bereavement and have experienced the death of a spouse, and both parents. My goal is to help you identify your strengths and build upon them so you feel empowered going forward. One of the tasks following loss is to rebuild and create a new reality. We can do this together. You do not have to do this alone. I am fully licensed to provide counseling in Michigan and Florida.
