In a culture increasingly tipped toward productivity and distraction, I invite you to let therapy be a place to slow down and be with yourself. This slowing down can feel both like a relief and a challenge! But I believe it’s key to developing a more conscious, compassionate relationship with yourself, which often leads to more authentic relationships with others and a more visceral sense of connection to life. In my experience, a strong, safe, collaborative bond between therapist and client is one of the surest environments for this process to come alive and unfold. It would be my honor to engage in this process with you! My approach to therapy is empathic, direct, and creative. I bring warm presence and non-judgmental curiosity to sessions, and genuinely want to get to know you. I'm invested in helping you make meaning of your past and present, alleviate suffering by being with it together, and rediscover your own capacities, strengths, intuition, and sense of choice. I work with DC & MD adult clients on concerns from anxiety and depression to relationship issues, motherhood, life transitions, and existential issues. My background as a poet also makes me a good fit for writers/artists, and means I value and tune into the images and metaphors that texture our lives. If any of this resonates, let's talk! I'd like to help.
