About

Life happens and challenges arise. Have you experienced a significant loss? Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Maybe you're experiencing uncomfortable levels of stress in certain personal or work relationships. Maybe it's old stuff; issues of childhood that have an impact now, or a traumatic event that hasn't healed. Perhaps you feel stuck in a pattern of being or feeling, and need to find a new way. Partnering with a trained psychotherapist who understands the nature of these issues can help. When you learn more about yourself by sorting through your thoughts & emotions, it can often lead to a more satisfying & meaningful life.

I have extensive experience working with individuals across a variety of treatment settings (mental health clinics, geriatric psychiatry clinics, large hospital in-patient and outpatient units, VA hospitals). In addition to my LCSW, I have completed advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies.

Beginning (or returning to) therapy is courageous. My approach is empathic, interactive and supportive. I maintain a relational psychodynamic perspective and practice, but I often integrate other treatment modalities to address presenting difficulties. I work both long & short term, helping people feel seen & heard as they make real changes in their lives.
