As one of a few psychotherapists in Memphis who is also AASECT Certified as a sex therapist, I treat a full range of sexual, relationship and intimacy issues. Sex is one of the deepest and most powerful experiences we have, yet it can also cause distress and embarrassment when it does not go smoothly. Compounding the problem, many have been socialized to feel uncomfortable with sex or haven't received accurate sexual health information. Many people struggle in silence with sexual dysfunction and others have erotic interests that might be considered unusual by some- any of the above can result in tremendous amounts of shame. As an instructor at the University of TN Health Science Center, I teach medical students & residents Sexual Health. I draw on 28 years of experience as a therapist & offer specific suggestions to address sexual difficulties based on current research in the field. I offer not only a non-judgmental space but also a unique insight to sort things through. I work collaboratively with clients on a variety of subjects that contribute to, and maintain sex and relationship difficulties. With additional post-graduate training in Sex Therapy (including training in kink/poly/open relationships) through faculty at Hopkins and U of Michigan, I work to improve both physical and emotional intimacy.
