About

People often feel alone with their problems. Your inner world can feel very different from how others see you. Privately you may feel sad, anxious or overwhelmed with life's challenges. You may be unhappy with how your life is going generally or with specific things about yourself or your relationships. Perhaps painful/traumatic experiences from your past are continuing to trouble you. Your feelings may lead to difficulty with intimacy, work, self-image, sleep, drugs/alcohol, eating, sex, or motivation. These are the kinds of problems I hear about often from people I see for psychotherapy. Together we can work to improve your life.

I have over 25 years of experience helping individuals and couples with a wide range of difficulties, including those with histories of childhood trauma, abuse and loss. I have a deep appreciation for the unique life history and concerns of each person I see and will tailor my approach to meet your needs. I draw on psychoanalytic and trauma-focused theories.

Talking about problems can be very difficult, especially if you have been betrayed in the past. Feelings of shame, guilt, fear of being judged or fear that no one will truly understand you can keep people from getting the help they need. I am very sensitive to these issues and will help you feel comfortable sharing in a way that feels safe for you.
