Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I am a bicoastal therapist specializing in trauma and addiction. With over 25 years of experience in the field, I bring a winding journey of knowledge to my practice from inpatient mental health, residential, school and outpatient clinical settings and substance abuse programs. My approach is holistic, integrative and tailored to the individual. I look at the whole person, not through a lens of pathology but from a place of being in one's environment and how the body, mind and spirit are involved in growth and recovery. Somatic trained, I often work well with clients who are not satisfied with standard or traditional talk therapy. As a body-based trauma therapist I help clients access sensation in the body as a way to process past events without the necessity of classic talk therapy, in a way that helps to restore the nervous system from fight/flight/freeze responses. This therapy is also utilized with clients without trauma history. I also integrate many evidence based therapies. The therapeutic match is a large predictor of therapeutic success. It is the safety and trust that allows for opening and insight- a place to grow and be seen. Please reach out to set up a free 15 minute consultation. I do not take insurance, but many of my clients get partial or full insurance reimbursement for out of network treatment.
