As humans, we often experience significant overwhelm from our sensory environment, trauma, and stress that can increase disassociation and make it difficult to process emotions. I believe that through reconnecting to the body in creative spaces we can improve our understanding and processing of emotions. As an Expressive Arts Therapist I specialize in a trauma-informed, mind-body approach and I work mainly with veterans and service members, complicated grief, family and relationship dynamics, anxiety, LQBTQIA+ community, and non-monogamy relationship structures. My therapy practice incorporates resiliency building, creative growth, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and somatic approaches. I also draw from Attachment-Based Theory, Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My clients are often looking to improve their quality of life, and are ready to create steps towards change. In session, you can expect to work on grounding skills, as well as actionable steps towards achieving your goals. My style is unique and tailored to each individual, and I will work collaboratively with you towards healing.
