Therapy usually begins with taking stock of one's current situation in life, and figuring out the best way to move forward. I have been helping adults and children with difficult life situations and transitions for almost 30 years. My intent is to be understanding; to listen and to hear but also provide feedback, in an environment you can count on as confidential and safe. I work with children, adults, and families. As well as developing strategies to address general life stress I have specialized in anxiety and depression. Recovery from trauma, especially assoicated with domestic violence, sexual abuse, and assault, are areas of special focus. I have also worked extensively with children and adults dealing with separation and divorce. I utilize EMDR, relaxation and mindfulness techniques, and dream work, as these are useful to facilitate progress. I do play therapy with young children.
