About
My name is Janine Ochoa, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have worked with adolescents in foster care, as well as currently working with adults in substance counseling, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, just to name a few. I have used many approaches, however, have enhanced my skills in cognitive behavioral therapy and attachment-based therapy, to assist my clients in learning coping skills and enhancing their own self-determination. I have seen how the approach I utilize has helped adolescents and adults who have been enduring challenges with belonging and self-acceptance. This often takes the form of substance use, self-deprecation, and hopelessness, just to name a few. I strive to help my clients create greater self-love and develop a more positive outlook on themselves and the world around them. I like to ensure that the approach is directly specialized to each client. I have generally used attachment-based therapy to make connections from the past and how it has affected the present in order to improve the quality of life.
