Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My approach to therapy is based upon my experience and training in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and family system therapies. My focus is on respecting the individual needs of each client. I draw on the optimal therapeutic approach and modality that will best meet the individual goals of each client. I have worked in a variety of settings during my 20+ years as a clinician, and provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families, for a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship stress. I try to help clients be better attuned to their emotional experiences. In addition to working with adults, I provide therapy to children and adolescents who are having difficulty in the different stages of their lives. Depending on the nature of the problem and the goals, I provide individual, couple / marital, or family therapy. Additional areas of focus include parenting issues, divorce, child custody, anger management, stress reduction, job and career transition, and family conflict. As well, I provide therapy for children, teens, and adults coping with the emotional effects and lifestyle challenges related to managing medical conditions, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
