About

Janaé has been a social worker in the field in various roles for marginalized communities from youth residential programs, supporting adoptions and reunifications of families; to providing trauma informed care play models to children ages 0-6 in family shelters, training volunteers to support 19 shelter programs across Western, MA. In children/adolescent residential work, she supported staff and children ages 6-18 in emotional regulation, trauma informed care, and youth development/life skills training. Janaé has worked with various handicapable individuals & members of the LGBTQIA+ community and considers herself an ally of both.

Her therapeutic approach is an amalgamation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as she acquires more techniques to meet the unique needs of each person/child. Janaé believes in a multifaceted approach not only to mental wellness but navigating life’s challenges in general.

Janaé has a passion for advocating for individuals without family or friend supports and advocating for racial/gender equity of BIPOC individuals as an American with both Caribbean and Central American descent.
