As your therapist, a graduate of UNK's master's program with an emphasis in community counseling, I will provide a safe environment for any individual or groups (i.e., mental health, substance abuse, families). It is in this capacity that you can begin the journey of collaboration to overcome and begin living a holistic life. The scope of 15 plus years of experience ranges across a multiple spectrum that includes but not limited to, families, couples, drug courts, school settings, anger management, and military consultant. The needs of the client will determine the individualized integrated therapeutic approach. Additionally, I worked extensively for the military as a consultant for 7 years working with issues of deployment, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse. My specialty areas, but not limited to: depression, families, legal, substance abuse/dependence, trauma, anger management, domestic violence, grief, self-esteem, pre-marital and marital issues. In my view, the relationship of past child/adolescent life experiences, our personality, our genetics, and support system influence present day living. Understanding, gaining insight into your being are powerful steps towards wisdom. My approach may utilize mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, EMDR, play therapy, and psychotherapy.
