About

Whether you need treatment for a mood disorder or practical tools to improve your life and relationships, I will patiently listen and compassionately guide you. My clients are challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic illness, and/or conflicted relationships. They seek to be free of fear and shame. to improve their communication with others, to have more confidence and clarity. After over 40 years counseling others, first as a pastoral minister and then as a psychotherapist since 2001, I've learned that empathic listening and non-judgmental support is the key to helping and healing.

After we explore your needs, we will use a variety of techniques: from brief solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral techniques to more psychodynamic approaches such as parts theory and ego psychology. Also, I am skilled at integrating your ethical values and spiritual beliefs, if you wish, into our therapeutic work.

My approach to therapy is client-centered and non-pathologizing. I believe that you have the solutions and resources you need to heal inside your Self. If you think I might be a good fit for your needs, please contact me for a free 15-minute consult.
