About

I proudly identify as an LGBTQ therapist who believes in a therapeutic relationship that is steeped in active listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I offer an integrative approach to clients that focuses on the client’s unique needs and identities. One of my primary specialties is affirmative and knowledgable therapy for LGBTQ clients. I use various counseling techniques such as unconditional positive regard, Nurture Play Structure (NPS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as well as psychoeducation to provide an individualized plan of care.

I apply a person-centered approach to counseling which means rather than viewing people with mental health needs as inherently flawed, with problematic behaviors and thoughts that require treatment, I recognize that each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and guides clients to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives. Through my work, I strive to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling.
