About

Taking the step towards change is a courageous endeavor. After 25 years working as a psychologist, I know people can make positive changes. Finding a therapist that feels supportive, non-judgmental and engaging is one of the first steps. I create a supportive and comfortable space to process the challenges you are facing. I will provide different ways to create change using evidence-based strategies such as EMDR and modifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs. Working with a trained therapy dog, called animal assisted therapy, is an option for any client who is interested.

During our first meeting, I obtain as much information as possible to gain a clear picture of the issues you want to work on. It is important for me to understand your environment including relationships, work and support systems to gain a deeper perspective and to learn about any negative patterns of behavior you want to change.

After the first session, we will develop a plan specifying your goals and frequency of sessions. Throughout therapy, I will ask you if your goals are being met and, if not, make changes accordingly. Collaboratively, we will set goals to ensure that the therapy is suiting your needs. For more information please visit my website ivysigel.com.
