I love dogs, specifically Boston Terriers. I love music and was a touring musician for a bit. I love sports and am the type to wake up at 4am on a Saturday to watch a soccer match. Humor is so important. Long walks on the beach are cool, too. I say all this because before I am a therapist, I am a person with interests and hobbies. In my opinion, too much of the traditional therapeutic process can feel sterile and impersonal. This approach might not work for all but hey, honesty is important. You may have told social media about your mental health acting up, now tell a licensed professional. I have over a decade of clinical experience, working with children, adolescents, and adults. I'm trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalization-based therapy (MBT), Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also once put together IKEA furniture without instructions. In my opinion, it requires a ton of courage to even be searching for a therapist, and for that, I applaud anyone taking this step. I believe in honesty, collaboration, respect, and compassion in my work and I promise to always keep that in the room. Currently available for in-person and virtual sessions in North Carolina and virtual sessions in New York.
