About

I use a warm, nonjudgemental approach. I work with children, teens, adults, and families. We will work together to help you cope and grow. My background includes providing therapeutic services in communities, hospitals and schools. My experience includes supporting clients who are managing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, mood disorders, trauma-and-stressor-related disorders, ADHD, life transitions, paranoia, self-esteem or body image concerns, behavioral issues, self-harm, or relational concerns. I have extensive knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, play therapy, narrative therapy, and strength-based approaches.

Seeking support can feel unfamiliar and intimidating, therefore my practice is collaborative allowing you to control the pace and process. It is my goal to ensure you feel comfortable providing a safe, empathic space for us to build a trusting relationship. Treatment begins with a phone consultation and scheduling an initial session, as appropriate.

During the initial session, we discuss goals for treatment and focus our work on responding to your specific needs and concerns. I have slots open. You can also visit our website to schedule a session online or call to schedule. https://www.amkcounseling.com/schedule-appointment/.
