Hi, My name is Hiawatha "Frenchie" Sanford, LICSW in WA and I believe that everyone has strengths and together we can identify those strengths and build on them. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, primarily using Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion. I try to create an environment that feels safe for clients to share their thoughts and feelings. I also try to create an environment where clients feel heard and respected. I also try to create an environment of trust and I believe it is very important to decide along with your clients their goals for therapy. I have found that clients respond better to achieving goals when they have been instrumental is setting those goals.
