Where to start? Life is full of ups and downs. After time, emotional pain can be difficult to describe. We know we are carrying hurt, physical stress, or relationship injuries but have difficulty talking about them. When we do try, we don’t get the response we were hoping for. At times, it may even be more discouraging. So, we disconnect and withdraw from people we care about. But over time, it’s as if we can no longer recognize ourselves. We are not broken or defective. There is a way. Individual counseling provides us with a safe place to organize our thoughts and safely feel our feelings. It’s also a place where we receive guidance and tools that can be used outside of session. Counseling is a time and place to explore and understand ourselves and our present circumstances with the support of a professional counselor. There are so many things we have probably heard and been told. What can a counselor say? Sometimes it’s about the things that haven’t been heard that make more of a difference. Know, that if there is something that has been nudging at you, there is support and relief for the aches and pains that we are hesitant to speak of.
