About

My best feedback has often come from clients who are overwhelmed, at complicated points in their lives, who are anxious about their relationships or work or big decisions, and who come in ready to talk about it. Some days therapy looks like problem-solving; some days you just need someone to get what you’re talking about and why it’s important. My stance is nonjudgmental; I strive to be curious, empathetic, and occasionally, humanely skeptical. I find It's not uncommon in my sessions for both of us to laugh, even if we're talking about things that ache.

You've likely read a lot of names of different approaches on here but one essential part of therapy is talking about difficult things with someone interested but objective until they make more sense. I rely on my training and on 20 years of experience providing support and perspective in times of pain and uncertainty.

A lot of what I do is helping people to understand and reframe challenges and mental habits that are making easy things seem hard. I have particular depth of experience with LGBT folks but I've had the good fortune to work with a truly diverse range of people. If what you've read has made you feel we'd work well together, let's talk about where to start.
