Making the decision to seek therapy can feel both overwhelming and empowering. My goal is to support you as you take this important step towards achieving wellness. I strive to create a welcoming environment that allows you to talk openly, explore concerns and recognize your strengths. Working within medical and community settings, I have experience with clients of all ages (from early childhood to geriatric populations). At different life stages, certain stressors can be more difficult to manage. I strive to help people find new ways to cope with these challenges. I specialize in supporting children and adults (and their families) impacted by cancer and other chronic illnesses. I help people during and after treatment as they continue to manage medical related changes, anxiety, relationships and, possibly, issues of grief and loss. As a former hospital social worker, I also offer support to healthcare workers. My approach is both collaborative and supportive with a bit of humor thrown in for good measure. I draw primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems and strengths-based practices. I also utilize mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques. I look forward to working with you as you take steps to manage the stressors in your life.
