My name is Steven Alexander, PhD. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 35 years of clinical experience. My clientele base covers a wide range of issues. My clients tell me I am a great listener and empathize with their needs. I'm not a judge but rather a working partner who can assist you with any issues you may have. Building trust and comfort is essential to identifying and communicating things that may be difficult to address. Difficult paths are too often part of life, but if you work with me, we will find better days ahead. Your goal or outcome of therapy is one of the most significant parts of counseling. If you have a set goal, that is also my goal. If not, we will work together to define an outcome that meets your needs. How I address the first session depends on the person's personality. Some clients wish to jump in and discuss their reason for seeking therapy, while others can be more reserved and cautious about discussing personal matters. In all cases, building a positive working relationship that will enhance the therapy experience is essential.
