I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been practicing for 15+ years. Creating a safe and supportive space to develop trust is one of the most important elements for a successful therapy. That is my main goal. Culture plays a big role in how we define mental illness. I enjoy working with individuals of different backgrounds including ethnicity, race, education, socio-economic background, and LGBTQ. As an MFT, I focus on exploring ways to improve relationships. The relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, our community and our environment. I am certified as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. I also use other therapy approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and positive discipline. Our traumatic experiences are held in our bodies. I may invite you to explore strategies to feel more comfortable in your body. For example, improving sleep, incorporating nutrition that supports emotional wellbeing, or increasing body movement to alleviate tension or stress. We can explore how you can connect deeply with yourself and with others.
