My practice is primarily adults who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and life challenges. I have participated in counseling myself, as my husband and children have, and can relate personally to many of the struggles my clients are facing. My goal is to help my clients get to the other side of whatever they bring to counseling, and be better because of it; to experience personal growth and appreciate the journey because of where it takes them, to a more joyful, peaceful place. I provide a relaxed, comfortable environment for my clients to share those things in life they would like to change. I use a directive counseling approach, providing homework and guidance, with a focus on cognitive behavioral therapy. We set goals and create a plan to best meet those goals. My own personal experiences in counseling have been as beneficial as the 20+ years as a counselor have been. I was blessed with a wonderful Christian counselor who led me through many painful life challenges. As a result, I can very much relate to my clients' struggles.
