For over 26 years I have been working with people seeking improvements in their personal lives or relationships. I welcome individuals, couples or families from all backgrounds whether their concerns are personal or relational. My approach is “strength-based,” which means that I look for client competencies and resources, and try to avoid pathologizing people because of their problems, past or diagnoses. How often and how long the therapy will last depends on client goals and treatment needs and will be mutually agreed upon. The atmosphere in my office is relaxed and warm, and clients are always treated with dignity and respect. I stress collaboration and strive to develop a treatment plan that honors each client's values and specific goals. My approach is based on my training in family, cognitive-behavioral and narrative therapy. I have recently completed Gottman level 1 training and incorporate many of those ideas into my work with couples' and conflict management. I have trained in CA, GA and Switzerland and have traveled extensively in Europe, Japan and parts of South America. I am a native of CA, a parent of two young adults, and love to ride horses in my spare time. I like to laugh also, and hope that clients will feel supported and safe as they embark on a journey of growth in my practice.
