Emily is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other negative life experiences to bring these to a more adaptive conclusion. Emily is also informed in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and utilizes CBT, Interpersonal, Motivational Interviewing techniques, Person-Centered, REBT, Solution-Focused, and Trauma-Focused therapy. Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor with over 12 years of experience working with older teenagers and adults in the community, residential, and outpatient settings. Emily has experience in treating mental health diagnoses including Anxiety, Bi-Polar, Depression, and PTSD. Emily has a BA in History and a M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling both from the University of Louisville. Her primary focus is to build a therapeutic alliance with her clients, assist in identifying goals, help them with making progress towards those goals, while utilizing effective and current therapeutic strategies.
