I hold a core belief that no one wants to be “bad” or do “bad.” Keeping this in mind, I prefer to highlight strengths and focus on how we learn and grow in our challenging moments. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and I don't come in knowing exactly what will work for you. My goal is to approach each session with curiosity and to collaborate with you on a unique plan that pulls from your strengths and creativity. My style is direct and action-oriented. I won't just ask, “How does that make you feel?” I'll ask, “What are we going to do about it?” I’m trans, queer and neurodivergent, and I love working with folks of shared experience. I work primarily through a CBT lens but am eclectic in my approach and open to processing through symbolic and non-traditional ways that reflect your lifestyle. I value creating structure with creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to re-evaluate and adjust as needed. I value humor and I honor pain. I've been on both sides of the chair in therapy, and I think that speaks to my trust in the healing power of a therapeutic relationship. As a friend of mine says, "We may not wear the same shoes, but we've shopped in the same shoe store." I feel awe and gratitude for the trust and vulnerability clients show in sharing their life experiences with me.
