Dr. Galat is a licensed psychologist in Connecticut. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford, Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (GIPP). Dr. Galat completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Middlesex Hospital where she provided a continuum of psychological services and case management to children, adolescents, and adults (ages 8-65 years) with emotional and behavioral difficulties in foster care, outpatient, and school settings which included diagnostic assessment, evidenced based treatment and intervention. Dr. Galat is also a licensed school psychologist in Massachusetts. In the area of assessment, she conducted triennial evaluations to determine special education eligibility. She also conducted personality and psychological assessments and worked in conjunction with school administrators, teachers, social services, residential staff, foster care agencies, and protective services. Areas of clinical practice include utilizing evidenced based treatment, specifically cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics who are struggling with depressive and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, grief, anger, and emotional distress.
