Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My ultimate goal is to be supportive, objective, and aid in needed change to make my clients feel more successful in their ability to navigate through life’s challenges. I have experience working with all ages, from preschool to elderly, having focused the first part of my career in early intervention and the more recent portion of my career with adolescents and adults. I have focused on developmental delays, behaviors issues, mental health, trauma, transitions, grief, life events, anxiety, and depression. I have an eclectic approach stemming from the theory that each client I meet is a unique individual. I believe in starting where the “client” is at by identifying the client’s phase of life, presenting problem, history, and resources (strengths and weaknesses), and using them to facilitate change. The relationship between client and therapist is crucial to a positive outcome for clients. The beginning of treatment focuses on building relationship, and moves into skill building (practice), using skills (implementation), and fine tuning for success. How this is done is determined by the interests, strengths, and energy brought to the room.
