Research has shown time and again that the therapeutic relationship is at the foundation for the healing that takes place in psychotherapy. In our work together, you can expect me to be fully present in this relationship, offering my undivided attention to help you explore your thoughts and feelings with greater clarity and respect. Such exploration brings new perspectives and a clearer picture of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and patterns of relating will emerge. Your experiences within the therapeutic relationship, coupled with this new understanding paves the way for emotional growth and a deeper sense of well-being. My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which looks at the deeper reasons behind the symptoms and distress you are experiencing. We’ll also look at how past experiences and old patterns may still be influencing your life today. Understanding their origins, you become free to let go of these old patterns and try on new ways of being. Through my years of clinical experience I have also come to deeply appreciate the benefits of mindfulness and meditation practices in getting "unstuck" and moving towards greater emotional and physical health. Above all, I approach my work with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and a deep respect for each individual's unique experiences and needs.
