About

My clinical expertise is in issues related to emotional regulation, trauma, loss, and early life attachment experiences. I have a particular interest in supporting parents of young children (particularly at this time and in relationship to COVID-related school and care transitions). My approach can broadly be described as insight oriented and rooted in attachment, relational, and interpersonal theories as well as self-psychology. My expertise rests on meaningful personal experiences and on continuing rigorous training and teaching.

I approach problems with curiosity, peeling back layers to find out what the struggles are all about. I believe that when we are given the opportunity to better understand our struggles together with a therapist, we can build a more authentic life.

I offer individual, couples, and play therapy to adults, children, and parents. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the District of Columbia and have a PhD in Counseling from the George Washington University. I am a psychotherapist, a psychoanalyst in training, a clinical supervisor, a professor, and a research scientist.
