I have been practicing Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy for over 25 years. My goal is to help my clients thrive in both their personal and family domains as well as employment or school settings. The work is to free oneself from triggers which can lead to unhappiness, discomfort or anger. I work with adults, adolescents, couples and families. My primary focus is on treating depression and anxiety. Particular specialties include relationship issues, underachievement in school or work and developing strategies and coping skills for families with Special Needs children/adults. I have taught at Cornell University, Tuskegee University and Saint Mary's College of Maryland. Mentors include: Kennith Clark, Carl Rogers, Jack Kornfeld, Jack Canfield , Thich Nhat Hanh and Salvador Roquet. On occasion I work with my wife, Barbara Ford Geiger LICSW. We are the parents of triplets. You can check our webpage at Fordgeiger Counseling.
