Adulting is hard is one of the most consistent messages, whether it's coming from a Tiktok video or from the people we care about. Having witnessed the persons struggle through detoxing, trying to figure out how to be really seen and heard by their partner without repeating the same conflict patterns, wrestling with depression about the past and/or anxiety about the future, I agree with the messages. I've also been there when someone in recovery reunites with their community, partners work to repair their relationship, and people who've been weighed down for years experience some relief. That type of outcome is what I work towards. Each person is unique so I work to be someone who sees and hears you, the client. Focusing on what you share your strengths and values are, I make a concerted effort to tailor therapy to each individual client. There are tools that work for most clients, like CBT and ACT. Still my goal is to collaborate with my clients to employ interventions they buy-in to. When working a different shift it can be difficult to find a counselor with availability that fits when you are free. That's why I offer some late evening and early AM hours for persons willing to meet via telehealth. If you're looking for afternoon hours I offer those as well. Email me and let's work together to find time that works with both our schedules.
