About

Effective psychotherapy is a collaborative process and begins with a motivated client and a well-trained clinician. Whether you're dealing with a challenging relationship, a frustrating career, or symptoms of anxiety or depression, therapy can be a highly effective resource. In the first couple of sessions, I conduct an evaluation to familiarize myself with your presenting issues and history. We then take steps to hone skills you already have and to develop new strategies to help you navigate your life more successfully. Depending on your needs and preferences, we can work in a short-term model or on an open-ended basis.

Stress, anxiety and depressed mood can all interfere with effective problem-solving. Building awareness, recognizing the precipitants to certain states, and developing constructive strategies for dealing with conflict can alleviate symptoms of distress and improve your ability to manage stressful, anxiety-provoking or demoralizing situations.

To give you a better sense of what therapy entails, please contact me and I can provide more details about my practice and answer your questions about my approach to therapy and utilizing out-of-network insurance benefits.
