About

The essence of who I am as a counselor is centered on helping you gain freedom of and responsibility for your choices by empowering you to become aware of yourself, your environment, and the relationship between the two. It is important for me to create an environment of genuineness, trust, humor, respect, and spontaneity. The counseling relationship can be an intimate and vulnerable space. My hope is to honor this by giving you the space to carve out your own existence within our relationship. I hope to collaboratively cultivate a relationship of exploration and action.

My background consists of earning an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming. I am currently a Clinical Therapist and Adjunct Professor of Counseling at a university in the New Orleans area.

My clinical work includes community, in-patient, and collegiate mental health. My interests include working with individuals, couples, families, and groups who are struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship and family of origin issues, personality disorder, and adjustment issues.
