About

I strongly believe in the facet of the human spirit which is indomitable. This quality traverses culture and ethnicity, and so often plays a major role in recovery. The concept of radical acceptance invites individuals to embrace a regret of the past and fear of the future as part of the human experience while discovering what they truly value as they achieve treatment goals working toward sustainable mental health. As individuals learn to accept the fear that accompanies risk, the journey towards healing is a remarkable one to witness and, for me, is the true payoff as a therapist.

I began working in the mental health field early on with adults diagnosed with Schizophrenia, and with adolescents, helping to administer a token economy program. I take a multi-dimensional approach to therapy, with a strong emphasis on behavioral approaches including CBT, REBT, DBT, and ACT. Trauma and PTSD are addressed through EMDR.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults facing challenges with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, emotion regulation, marriage relationships, trauma, and PTSD. Having been a military spouse, I also enjoy working with military families; especially service personnel who are women.
