Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I've learned in over thirty-five years in the field that anyone who wants change can benefit from a therapy that is geared toward increased self-awareness. Psychotherapy is an empowering experience that helps people improve relationships, reach higher income, quality of life, and educational goals. Understanding the world we live in, and who we are, is a key to open those doors to greater satisfaction, fewer frustrations, and a greater sense of possibilites. Therapy can, and should produce answers to questions about why things are not working out, and what actually does work I specialize in individual and marital therapy that focuses on improving communication and increased awareness. True knowledge about ourselves comes from insight, which may be blocked by stress, anxiety, and depression. Working through those blocks is possible with mindfulness, stress reduction, and insight oriented and cognitive techniques. I find that careful listening and maintaining an open opportunity for awareness inevitably leads to growth and change. The developments in the field over the years have expanded the range of the therapy I practice, and I use this knowledge in supervising clinical work, and teaching, and practice.
