My therapy perspective is as diverse as the community I serve. My work with individuals is geared toward strengthening their sense of self. I also facilitate peer support groups and small intimate therapeutic groups. My therapeutic model is a combination of Rogerian (person-centered therapy), and the Empowerment Approach (the connection between "social and economic justice" and "individual pain and suffering"). Family Systems Theory (connected to a living system); and Feminist Theory (gender and related concepts remain central to feminist social work theory). With this blend, the entire overarching concepts are framed. View 4 Photos I have been working with the Transgender/Gender Variant community since 1999. My work with clients is to help them find their authentic gender on the gender spectrum. I provide psychotherapy and mental health evaluations for transgendered men and women according to the WPATH Standards of Care version 7. Working with gender issues, is a comprehensive process often including significant others, family members, and Human Resources Departments. Sessions are conducted in person or via Skype session.
