Trauma is a lasting emotional response resulting from experiencing one or more distressing events that can change our sense of safety, sense of self and the ability to self-regulate, navigate daily interactions and relationships. For almost 20 years I have worked with survivors of sexual trauma, abusive relationships and intimate partner violence. Since 2016 I have been practicing individual and group therapy with survivors and I have used various therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to process traumatic and adverse experiences that aids in reaching an adaptive resolution. Our life experiences are unique and complex and for this reason exploring individualized needs can aid in rebuilding sense of self by connecting to our feelings, thoughts and being able to establish a sense of safety. My approach is trauma informed, collaborative with an emphasis on improving resiliency and exploring how to thrive. Initiating the healing process takes courage and just by reaching out you are taking the step to feel heard, seen and validated. If you are interested, please send me an email or book with me through my Headway link (see the 'My Website' button), I offer a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your needs and identify if my skill set matches your needs.
