I have a collaborative approach; where actively working together to deeply understand you and your issues is the first step. Working together to understand and not judge the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and experiences that are contributing to your patterns is essential. Decreasing shame, and increasing self esteem, acceptance, and compassion, are integral aspects to therapy I offer, and necessary to reducing the internal conflict which so often fuels the problems and patterns. For therapy to be effective, it calls for a very active effort on your part, as well as mine. I believe the most important relationship you have is with yourself, it has the greatest influence on your quality of life. As your problems decrease and you grow, your capacity for intimacy will increase. I assist clients in relationship issues; working on boundaries, assertiveness, and communication. My 25 years of clinical experience has taught me to approach everyone as an individual. I adjust my style and skills to the needs of each person. I use mindfulness, guided imagery and a variety a psychological skills to help you grow and meet your goals. If you contact Dr. Miller, please include your availability, type of insurance and why starting therapy.
