I provide counseling services for those seeking help with depression and anxiety related disorders, grief, trauma, injury, or communication and relational difficulties. A specific passion of mine is performance-based counseling. The goal is to reduce distress and unconscious factors that take away from your ability to perform or act. These difficulties might show themselves in athletes, creatives, public speakers, or any other skill-based task. I can help you work through these mental roadblocks so that you can better use the skills that you already have. In the counseling room, I provide a space where you access the inner resources of compassion, creativity, care, and curiosity already inside of you. With practice, you can learn to use these resources to promote positive change that is full of compassion, and not shame. Oftentimes, we find ourselves stuck in patterns of thought, emotion, or behavior that cause us distress. These patterns can lead to frustration and shame, especially when we try to force or will our way out of them. I have experience using an array of evidence-based approaches, and will work with you to find that blend of these that is best suited to you.
