My practice focuses on the treatment of depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and complex trauma. My approach weaves together western psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, and eastern mindfulness-based approaches rooted in trauma-informed, neurodiverse-friendly, intersectional, and anti-oppression frameworks. Psychodynamic psychotherapy emphasizes self-reflection, self-exploration, and the development of insight into the historical roots of problematic patterns that are often beyond one's awareness. Improved self-awareness opens the door to better control of one's authentic self, which leads to choices that make life more fulfilling to live. Mindfulness-based approaches examine the causes and conditions that lead to emotional suffering and use that insight to soften one's relationship to the innately painful or dissatisfying experience of living in a world that is constantly shifting and changing. The development of a peaceful relationship to the nature of existence can make life worth living.
