Whether you are fearful of horses or ride every day, Equine Assisted Therapy techniques are designed to move at your pace and find value at a distance or in the middle of the herd. I will assess your mental health goals and experience with horses, and collaboratively, we’ll develop our therapy plan. No experience with horses is necessary because this is a therapy where humans and horses build relationships without riding. All sessions are unmounted (groundwork). View 5 Photos With the guidance of the horses, individually or in the herd, we heal and explore our courage, humanity, and compassion, building confidence, relaxation, focus, and connection. As prey animals, horses teach us about safety, boundaries, gentleness, and strength while mirroring our emotions and fostering congruence. Equine Assisted Therapy is especially helpful in healing anxiety, trauma, depression, and ADHD. Neurodiverse clients may find connection with horses soothing. Combining my love of psychotherapy and horses allows me to use mindfulness, physical movements, and emotional connection to forge and foster new neural pathways. I look forward to your call or email.
